A brief account of my theory of science and of my book
The Secret of the West (2007), spelled 西方的秘密,

The author analyzes the prediction – which is becoming more mainstream by the day – that the XXIth century is going to be a Chinese century. He reckons that, in order to sensibly think about that prediction, and to guess whether China is doomed to decline later like the West now, one has to understand the rules of civilizations rises and falls. Thus, the author looks at the messages of different thinkers about this topics: Montesquieu, Spengler, McNeill, Needham, Braudel and "Kesangde". His conclusion is that the latter's theory is worth studying. Launched in 1966, the "Mingpao Monthly" is specialized in academic and cultural topics. It belongs to the Media Chinese Group, whose roots hark back to 1929 in Malaysia. Its elder brother, the "Mingpao Daily News", founded in 1959 in Hong Kong, boasts of steadily aiming at the highest journalism level. It was rewarded in these efforts by being repeatedly elected as the "most credible chinese media" par Hong Kong readers in 1997, 2001, 2006 et 2009. Safety copy of internet version |
